Basic functions: rotate, mirror and delete photos
All editing functions are available through the context menu, i.e. by clicking the right mouse button. The photos to be modified can be selected in the lower part next to Process: You can either work with the current photo only, with all photos, or with any combination of red, green, or blue marked photos.

All functions of the Basic tab are executed immediately without clicking the Commit button.
Here you can select the lossless JPEG operations "Rotate" and "Mirror". In this case the photos are not decompressed, modified, and compressed again; instead they are processed in the compressed domain. This way quality loss is avoided, which typically occurs in other functions that require recompression. You may rotate the selected photos left or right by 90°, or by 180°, furthermore mirror them vertically or horizontally.
Always keep an eye on the Process selection, as it determines which photos are affected by your edits.
Hint: If you need to rotate some photos left, others right, then mark them with two different markers, let's say red for left, green for right. This way you can rotate them easily in two steps: Set process to red only, then click on Rotate Left 90°. Switch off red processing, turn on green, and click on Rotate Right 90°.
Via the button Delete all selected photos are deleted. The photos stay in the backup folder, though (provided that one was created), so that you can restore accidentally deleted photos by copying the files from the backup folder.
The button Restore helpful for restoring photos, too, but this function operates on selected photos, not on those already deleted. It's purpose is to completely restore all changes that have accidentally been committed on selected photos by copying back the originals from the backup folder.
The e-mail button lets you create an e-mail attachment in the form of a ZIP archive with a predefined maximum size. All selected photos get reduced in resolution and JPEG quality automatically, so that they don't exceed the target size in total.

First enter the path of the ZIP file to be created, either by typing it in completely or by selecting it via the folder button. Then enter the desired target size, which should not be exceeded. In order to hit the target size more accurately, you may execute multiple iterations and define a size tolerance in percent. Each iteration needs extra time to complete. As soon as the size tolerance criterium is met or the maximum number of iterations is reached, the process finishes.
